We bought furniture!

If you were to read the family journal for the past year, you would notice that John and I have spent about a quarter of our weekends since last March shopping for furniture, but buying only a bed, and two rugs from a fly-by-night carpet sale (hence all the pictures below of us sitting on the floor or in bed). Yesterday we finally made another major purchase. We've noticed that we both have strong opinions as to what we like, and that neither of us is willing to settle for something we don't completely love. We would also advise any non-married folk to buy furniture BEFORE you marry so that you don't have to go through the year long process of finding something on which you both can agree- unless one of you is willing to step aside and let the other make the decisions, as two or three of our interior decorators suggested. But this is what we agreed on- a couch in a khaki colored fabric, and two recliners in dark brown (not the red below)

What nice furniture! We're hoping one of these days to be able to replace some of our hand me down furniture with some that are more to our liking. Enjoy!

Very nice you guys. I think you made an excellent choice. I wonder when Kelly and I will get around to buying furniture. I bet it will take too long and I'll just give up.

I sympathize... that is all Eric will let me say... for that matter he sympathizes too. Glad to hear you are doing so well. We miss you in dear old Eastgate.
