Budget Clarification and Girls: Month 5

Budget Clarification

John and I get many budgeting and personal finance comments. Over the last few years, most of these comments have been directed toward John, with comments of pity toward me for being constrained by John's budget. Those who have know us longer, however, know that I am more to blame for our frugality and budgeting. Before we were married John's budget consisted of about three categories which were the following: Income, "Livables", and Other. John has tried repeatedly to explain to me what "livables" is and is not, but I am still baffled. Roughly, I think "livables" is any expense that his dad would have reimbursed him for, years ago. I'm sure he'd love to explain the concept to all who are curious.

So I do the accounting and most of the spending, though our overall finances are a team effort and are openly discussed quarterly. We've decided to base our budget on what we feel like we need rather than on what we earn. We're budgeting nerds because we like it.....and I always love finding ways to save money.

Girls: Month 5

This past weekend was an especially fun one for me. John and I alternate which baby we take when John is home, and because this weekend was our church's General Conference we were both home most of Saturday and Sunday. So I had just Camy all day Saturday and just Macy all day Sunday, with very few distractions. I loved finally having some good one-on-one time with each of my daughters. They were both sweet and fun.

I realize that no one is quiet as infatuated with these girls as I am, but here are more pictures anyway. I also realized that not everyone can tell which girl is which, so I labeled them this time.

The girls still love to chomp on each other's head, which is more dangerous now since each of them have teeth.

Macy

Macy continues to enjoy splashing. I don't feel so bad about our water damamged countertop since we are planning on replacing it...someday. She is very sweet and silly and enjoys all sorts of noise.

Macy with Uncle "Fav" who visited us for a week

Camy

Camy is still a wonderful, happy girl. Her latest development is that she likes to punch herself repeatedly in the head. I took a video to document this just in case we are questioned by child services. She loves to touch things.

This picture reminds me of an artsy ad for a purse that I saw a few years ago.

Camy and Papa reading the news together....she obviously inherited my habit of reading over John's shoulder.

wow! The girls have changed SO much! They are beautiful and getting so big! You could post as many pictures as possible and still many of us would not get sick of it!

They are really very sweet! And don't be so sure you will be able to tell them apart in pictures in a few years. I have a couple of pictures of my girls where I can't tell who is who, and they look nothing alike.

I would have to agree with everyone else, they sure have changed ALOT since we saw them last. They are starting to look alot like their parents, Macy looks more like Johnny and Camy reminds me of Edna. In some of their pictures they look like their cousins. Such as Macy's Lower right picture looks similar to Ellie-Jane, and Camy's upper right picture looks like Molly. It must be in the Mullen genes.
